IRON BALLS was created in 2015 by Ashley Sutton, a straight-talking modern day pirate and daredevil bar designer from Western Australia. Ash fell into bar design through a combination of luck and unstoppable determination, and he is now responsible for some of the most recognizable jaw-dropping bar designs across Asia. Having grown up in a family of sailors, the ocean is where Ash feels most at home. When he isn’t working on his next design project you’ll find him navigating on-board, or diving beneath, his boat Infamis.

Having built a bar design empire across Asia, Ashley Sutton decided it was about time he created his own spirit. Founded in Bangkok in August 2015, the IRON BALLS distillery license was the first to be granted in Thailand in 31 years. Ash imported the best stills he could find from Germany and engineered the distillery’s hybrid distillation system himself. The time from inception to production took three & a half years, over 600 recipes, 2000 runs & all the money & property Ash had, to create certainly the one of the best gin made in Asia.
